Our Community of Volunteers | Volunteer Coordinator Position | Volunteer Application

We here at the Hawaii Wellness Institute (HWI) love the word "sangha." It means a community of like-minded people working together for a common and meaningful purpose.

We have many ongoing volunteer opportunities at HWI and only one rule: volunteers should be working on tasks "that make their hearts sing." Do you love to talk to people on the phone? Organize paper? Garden? Take on projects? Create flyers and posters? Plan events? Do research? Distribute informational materials to locations around town or at events?

What would you like to contribute to the mission of HWI? How would you like to join us in providing the people of Oahu with the inspiration, information and support they need to choose lifestyles that will ensure their mental, emotional and physical health?

There are no training requirements for volunteers or limitations on those who may apply. We need volunteers who can give a few hours a week or a few hours a month, primarily on weekdays between 10:00am and 6:00pm. We are also happy to accept interns working towards academic or community service credit.

Opportunity to Become Our Volunteer Coordinator

HWI is seeking someone with organizational skills who could become our Volunteer Coordinator. Primary responsibilities would include: recruiting volunteers; organizing teams of and individual volunteers for various tasks (phoning, office, grounds, distribution, community outreach, etc.); planning and organizing at least two fun events a year to thank volunteers.

This would not be an overly time-consuming position, but a position with considerable responsibility. Are you interested in developing or sharing your leadership and managerial skills? If so, this position may be for you.
